FOREST TOWN 6-0 C MILANO

As we reach the penultimate week of the season, there’s still some big games to play. Forest Town currently second place and 2 points off the top spot, need to win their 2 games and hope Prohawks lose one game to clinch their first ever title. They came in to this game against a strong Milano side looking to continue their winning run. Milano, rooted towards the bottom of the league, have had plenty of tight games this season but have just missed a ruthless striker to turn their close defeats into wins. This game promised to be a cracking game and it was. Forest Town started the quicker as they usually do, and went ahead early on with goals coming from Zain and Shaban. Further goals came from Omz and Hussain to virtually kill off the tie. 4-0 half time and Milano had it all to do in the 2nd half. Any hopes of a comeback were diminished when an own goal for Milano 5 minutes into the half knocked the stuffing out of the team. They could not break through the well drilled Forest Town defence. In the dying minutes, Captain Zain got another goal and it finished 6-0. Forest Town will be hoping the Prohawks drop some points in the game later on against Potential to have any chance of taking top spot.

HFA 5-4 FC UNITED

FC United are rooted to the bottom of the table and this game was one in which they would have hoped to have taken something from. HFA only 2 places ahead, were looking to get close to IG1 and take 5th spot in the league. HFA started the better of the two teams and it was that man again, Yasin the league’s top scorer putting HFA in front. This seemed to wake FC United up and they got back into the game when Zahir smashed the ball in from close range to level the game. A quick double from Mohammed put HFA 3-1 up before the half time interval.

As soon as the 2nd half had started, FC United were back into the game when Yasin got onto the scoresheet and moments later Zahir got onto the scoresheet again to tie the game 3-3. Both teams were going at it and the next goal would be crucial. It came 10 minutes into the second half and it was Kara for HFA with a well taken strike into the bottom corner. From the resulting kick off Zahir went on a mazy run and buried the ball into the net to complete his hatrick and level the tie again to make it 4-4. In the dying minutes HFA got their 5th goal coming from Mohammed to complete his hatrick and take the 3 points. 5-4 to HFA and a great game to watch for the neutrals. HFA showing signs of their old self again, with the season coming closer to the end they will be looking to rebuild for the new season. FC United’s miserable run continues, they will need to improve in both defence and attack for the new season.

JFC 5-0 IG1

IG1 fielding a depleted squad again came up against a strong JFC team looking. The game started in blistering fashion with JFC getting an early goal to settle their nerves when a mistake at the back let in Humza to slot the ball home. The game was played in a high tempo and there were plenty of rash challenges from both sides. The next goal would be crucial and it came for JFC again, this time it was Zulqi, last season’s top scorer with a fine finish after beating two players. Just before the half finished, JFC got a third and it was Humza again, relishing his new role in centre midfield.  3-0 half time and JFC were cruising. The second half started and it was JFC on the front foot again, carving out opportunities at will. If it were not for some crucial saves from the IG1 keeper the score would have been doubled. With 10 minutes to go, that man Saif ‘Zlatan’ Uddowalla got on the scoresheet after making a glorious decoy run to the back post and after been fed through by Maestro Humza, tapped the ball into the net from the edge of the D. A great goal and one that the spectators on the sides applauded. The game was over, all that was left was for Humza to complete his hatrick and that came with two minutes left on the clock. Beating 2 players and rolling the ball into the net, a great performance from him. 5-0 full time and IG1 will be looking to regroup for the new season. JFC know where they have slipped up this season and as the new season will be starting soon, they will be looking to come back stronger.

PROHAWKS 5-2 POTENTIAL SQUAD

Prohawks, top of the league and looking to maintain their winning streak further came up against third placed Potential Squad. In the corresponding fixture earlier in the season, Prohawks beat Potential Squad 4-2 and that was a closely contested fiery game and this game was to be no different. Prohawks with their all-out attacking team, went ahead early when Arif scored after beating his marker and drilling the ball into the bottom corner. Potential looking to get back into it were countered and on the break Arif got is second of the game. Things could not go worse for Potential, but they did as two further goals from Aswat and Uzair just before half time ensured Prohawks went in at the interval 4-0 up. Some angry responses from the Potential boys and some harsh words, ensured they came out the second half with a point to prove. They looked their old self again and it was only a matter of time before they got back into the game. They did however, when a poor back pass to the keeper was intercepted by Azhad and he made no mistake by burying the ball into the bottom corner. A few moments later, Captain Fahad scored with a long range effort and were hoping to mount a comeback. However, any signs of that happening quickly disappeared when that man again Arif, scored to complete his hatrick and ensure Prohawks won the game 5-2.  Prohawks continue their fine run and know that a victory or even a draw against JFC will hand them their first league title in Community Leagues. Next week’s game promises to be a thriller.

Another great week of football full of twists and great goals. Come back in the New Year for more big games. Only at Community Leagues.
