HFA 3-3 IG1

HFA came into this game knowing that a win for them would result in them overtaking IG1 to 5th spot and on the last game of the current season, they would have been confident of doing so. IG1 with a depleted squad were looking to see the season out in style. It was IG1 that started the brighter of the 2 teams and they eventually got a breakthrough when Captain Rajab hit a fierce drive into the bottom corner of the goal. This seemed to wake HFA up and within 5 minutes they were 2-1 ahead when a quick fire double from Yasin the league’s top scorer put them ahead. Chances went beckoning for both sides but the score remained 2-1 at the interval. The second half started and it was IG1 again on the front foot and they made the most of their chances as Jason went through on goal and smashed the ball into the net. 2-2 and the next goal would be crucial and it came for HFA, this time it was Kara beating his marker and scoring. As the game fizzled out and HFA looked as though they would be taking the 3 points, a long range effort from Mohammed changed things. Picking the ball up on the edge of the half way line, he drove at the HFA defence and unleashed a powerful effort into the top corner. 3-3 and with 1 minute to play it was all to play for. Unfortunately, that great strike was the last goal of the game and it finished 3-3. IG1 will be regrouping and hoping to come back stronger for the new season. HFA will be making some new signings and hoping to get closer to the top of the league again.

FOREST TOWN 9-3 FC UNITED

As we head in to the final week of the season, Forest Town currently second place and 2 points off the top spot, needed to win this game and hope Prohawks slip up against JFC to have any chance of clinching their first ever title. They came in to this game against a poor FC United side looking to continue their winning run. From the start of the whistle, Forest Town looked the livelier and they got into the swing of things once the first goal came. That came from Captain Zain, after he bamboozled two defenders and let fly from 15 yards out. Within the next 10 mins a further 5 goal ensued to kill the tie. A Hatrick for Zain and one each from Omz and Shaban. 6-0 half time and the game was virtually over. The second half began and although fc United managed to get 3 goals in the second half, Forest Town also matched that with another goal from Omz, one more for Shaban and one from Amjad Biggie. 9-3 full time. Forest Town now had to wait for the last game of the season and hope JFC win. FC United will need to regroup for the new season and aim to show their true potential.

AC MILANO 2-2 POTENTIAL SQUAD

Potential Squad came into this game hoping to see the season out with a win after suffering a heavy defeat against top of the table Prohawks the week before. AC Milano have narrowingly lost plenty tight games this season and wanted to prove themselves against a quality Potential Squad side. The game started with Potential dominating play as they usually do against most teams but the fierce and solid defensive unit of Milano was proving hard to break down. With each attack of Potential been thwarted, Milano were countering and carving opportunities for themselves to score. On one such occasion, Milano went through on goal and Minhaz buried the ball into the net. 5 minutes later, the lead was doubled when Shoaib went through on goal. 2-0 and Potential were shocked. Although they had a few chances to score, they were held 2-0 at half time. After regrouping, Potential came out firing in the second half and pushing further numbers forward, they were rewarded with a goal when Azhad bamboozled his marker with a sharp turn and smashed the ball into the top corner. 2-1 and Potential were back in it. A couple of minutes later and the score was levelled when Sanad found some freedom on the edge of the box and slotted the ball home. With 10 minutes to go on the clock, you’d have thought they would’ve been more goals but as both teams tussled with each other and had countless chances to score, nothing came to fruition and it ended 2-2 on the night. A great game for the neutrals. Milano will want to strengthen further for the new season and hope to get closer to the top teams. Potential will be ruing a missed opportunity for this seasons title, having been in the top 2 for majority of the season but finishing 4th. They will be back next season and will definitely be one of the contenders for the title once again.

PROHAWKS 8-2 JFC

Current Champions JFC against top of the table Prohawks, this was the game everyone was waiting for and especially since there was a lot at stake for Prohawks. JFC missing a few key men were aiming to win the game and in the process dent Prohawks title ambitions. The game started with end to end action and JFC had the first chance to score when Faz through on goal but his shot was saved well by the onrushing keeper. A few moments later Prohawks on the front foot, Aswat nutmegging the JFC right back and laying the ball off for Pele to slot home. 1-0 up for Prohawks. They didn’t have to wait long for the second goal to arrive as from a pass out to the keeper, Faz tried a long range pass but it dropped to Aswat on the halfway line, he chose to shoot and was rewarded when the ball was fumbled in by the keeper. Prohawks were flying. JFC had a few chances to score but could not beat the fantastic shot stopper in goal. Just before the half a quick fire double Arif gave Prohawks an unassailable lead at the interval. Half time and a few changes for JFC to freshen things up worked momentarily as JFC pegged a goal back when Ninja scored from the edge of the box. JFC thought they were back in the game but any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Zubz pounced on sloppier defending from JFC to slot the ball home. A few moments later he got a quick fire double to complete his hatrick and make it 7-1 for Prohawks. Another consolation goal for JFC came when Azz slotted in but the final goal of the night came for Prohawks and it was Mohammed who put the icing on the cake with this emphatic victory, beating 2 players and smashing the ball into the roof of the net. The game finished 8-2 and Prohawks were crowned Champions of the Community Leagues for the first time and deserved winners of the league this season.

Another great week of football full of twists and great goals. Come back next week when the new season kicks off. Only at Community Leagues.
