IG1 crowned Champions of the Thursday League - March 2018!

Another fiercely contested season came to an end last week when IG1 reclaimed the league they last won over a year ago. Going into the final game of the season, the top two teams (Shambles and IG1) went head to head in a winner takes all match. Both teams were level on points and were separated only by goal difference with IG1 having the advantage of a plus four goal difference. The game ended 2-2 and IG1 were crowned Champions of the Thursday League. IG1 are one of veterans in the league, having joined the league right from its inception. IG1 Captain Mohammed Bilal led his team well throughout the season and made necessary changes when needed to bring the title back home. The team consisted of the Legendry Akram in goal, with Mohammed, Karmen and Charles ensuring the backline remained solid throughout. The wizard Hem in the middle who was the league’s top scorer and up front, the lethal partnership of Raja ‘Suarez’ and the unplayable Lee Woods were tormenting every defence in the league. Additional support for the team came from the reliable pair in Mutahir and Milan. A great achievement for the team and they will be looking to retain their title for the forthcoming season. Can anyone stop them?
